Who is behind this site
I worked as a signmaker and designer for many years. In that time I have used almost all of the tools mentioned on this site, for several years each. I know the good and the bad of every one of them, and I have tried to be as objective as possible in this site, guides and comparisons.
Why I created it
I have been replying in several font identification forums, and what struck me was how many people don't know that there are tools for identifying fonts at all.
For a long time I wanted to create a website that explains how to find fonts in images, covers the details, gives practical tips and presents a comprehensive test of the major font identification tools. With the help of AI that task became much easier, and now that I have more free time I built this site to help people identify fonts from images.
